the adventures of a boy and his computer - The Nature of the Beast

"As much as we'd like to think it-Bush is not THE problem, he's merely the face of the beast for the time being. The actual republican programme has been in place for better than a century, and from the look of it, is working out quite well, thank you. My question is what happens after WMD? He's going to be a hard point man to replace. If the republicans can't get an effective point of attention in the pubic eye, that could be a major problem. Without a central polarizing figure, all the infrastructure so carefully laid could fall apart, because without the proper barrage of sound, noise and trumped-up outrage, people might actually have time to have a look at what's going on and to think about it."

Food for thought!
